50 Cent’s ‘The Kanan Tape’ Is Super Grimy
It’s finally here and 50 Cent’s brought the super grimy character of Kanan from Power back to life and into ‘The Kanan Tape’. Whether it’s 50 or his alter-ego that’s gone into one of the best characters on TV right now, all we know is it’s bringing back 50 at his grimiest self.
If you haven’t already checked out the interview with 50 Cent and DJ Semtex, get into it, 50 Cent’s pretty direct that Kanan isn’t based on him entirely, but we’ve seen Kanan in the ‘Power of the Dollar’ 50, and ‘Pieces of Weight’ 50…
When 50 does Kanan on TV – “Well look, it has tones of 50 Cent in it, he’s crazy. Me prior to music – not Kanan – I get people that they believe Kanan and they look at me and it feels good, so they go ‘man he was like that before’ and I’m like Nah! I had some involvement but not to that extent, he’s super grimy.”
When 50 Cent does Kanan on tape it’s taking it right back to the street. Locking in collaborations on production and features with Young Buck, Boosie Badazz, Alchemist, Post Malone, Scoop DeVille, !LLmind, Sonny Digital, London On Da Track – this is 7 tracks on the hustle straight up.
