60th Grammy Award Nominees For 2018 Are Announced
We’re back in that Grammy cycle and those Twitter timelines have unleashed a wave of comments and reactions to the 2018 nominees for the 60th Grammy Awards. Jay-Z takes the cake, with eight nominations this year including album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best rap album.
The Album of the Year remains the most coveted award, and a win by Jay-Z for ‘4:44’ would be the first for an African-American artist in over a decade. It would also be the first Hip-Hop album to win since Outkast’s ‘Speakerboxx/The Love Below’ took the award in 2004.
Nominated previously for 11 Grammy’s, Kendrick Lamar locks in another 7 for this years nominations. Debut album nods lead with SZA and Khalid both landing 5 nominations each. Other nominee highlights include Childish Gambino, Tyler, the Creator with his first Grammy nod, Lil Uzi Vert, Daniel Caesar, Kehlani, 6Lack, Cardi B amongst many more. See the nominations for the big 5 categories below and for the full list of nominations hit the Grammy’s site here.
Rising producers with Grammy nominations include Hiko Mimoji for Khalid, Mura Masa, FWDSLXSH and more.
The Grammy Awards returns to New York City for the first time in 15 years with the awards ceremony taking place at Madison Square Garden on 28th January 2018.
