6LACK & Future Write The Perfect ‘East Atlanta Love Letter’
Since the arrival of his sophomore album ‘East Atlanta Love Letter’, 6LACK has pretty much had us all catching feelings we didn’t even know we had. So it’s hardly unrealistic to expect you aren’t about to catch a few more while watching the new visuals for the title track.
Opening with a nighttime vigil, the visual in its entirety is a tribute to Atlanta’s Zone 6. Drawing you in slowly, with his emotions on full display, 6LACK lets you in to get up-close-and-personal as he appears solitary against the Atlanta backdrop. It’s a love story, told intimately under the direction of a somewhat outsider with a keen eye – British photographer and director Olivia Rose Garden.
Raised in Atlanta’s Zone 6, 6LACK, real name Ricardo Valdez Valentine, emerged triumphantly at the close of 2016 with his debut ‘Free 6LACK’. Giving us one of his earliest interviews at the top of 2017 , revisiting his journey is a living testament to self-belief and persistence – “I take my hardest times and turn them into something”.
Almost 2 years on, his story is still unfolding, and from that album cover right through to every lyric, 6LACK does not disappoint – yet again.
