6LACK Get’s ‘Free’ In The New Visual

Although ‘Free 6LACK’ came out all the way back in 2016, 6LACK’s work on that project is far from done. He gains a larger following by the day as new listeners start tapping in to the infectious, hypnotic sound of his debut album and, consequently – they want some new, hypnotic visuals to go with it.

Luckily, 6LACK doesn’t disappoint. Only a week after dropping his track with Jhene Aiko, ‘First Fuck’, 6LACK has hit us with the visuals for ‘Free’ – ‘Free 6LACK’s crowning jewel, in my opinion. Directed by Andrew Donoho, the video does well to match the eeriness of the instrumental.

Throughout the course of the video, we find 6LACK in the clutches of a particularly handsy fan who has trapped and seduced him. Given that the track is fundamentally about freedom, this particular choice of story-arch certainly makes the experience all the more unnerving. It doesn’t stop there, though. On the verge of escaping, 6LACK finds himself hindered by a slew web-like strands, seemingly created by his admirer who – until now – we assumed was human. The video reaches a pretty unsettling climax back at 6LACK’s house, however, I won’t ruin it for you!
