Abi Ocia Restores Calm In ‘Running’
West London’s own Abi Ocia reveals the visuals for her debut single ‘Running’, having initially shared the debut track in September, the video comes as a welcome tonic in a year that has often seemed so filled with hatred of all types.
Ethereal and magnetic, Ocia’s voice carries echoes of Solonge and Sade as her lyrics speak of an inner conversation and quest to find something beyond yourself. Written by Ocia, ‘Running’ was also produced by ‘Draper’ with Mkulu on hand to deliver co-production on this London affair.
Directed and edited by Jack Wells and Joseph Rodrigues it serves as an illusionary short, a reminder of the tricks the mind can often play in our dark moments, before the cleansing fires at the videos climax rage, and ultimately restore calm.
Ocia brings us all to church in her intense new video, a reminder not to get trapped in the mind but to embrace change and the temporary chaos it often causes.
