Cash King Diddy Inks New Bad Boy Deal
Some artists have already started to coin 2015 as the year of the 2nd renaissance in Hip-Hop and when we think back to the first in the 90’s, Puff Daddy was certainly one of the big players then and is the No.1 Cash King today.
Part of the legacy that made the 90’s so memorable for Hip-Hop was Puff Daddy’s ‘Bad Boy Entertainment’ which paved the way for one of the biggest legends of Hip-Hop, Notorious BIG. As an entrepreneur and entertainment mogul, P.Diddy has continued to remain embedded in the culture through his ventures, Bad Boy Entertainment, Revolt TV, Sean John and countless others bringing his net worth up to $60 million.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Comb’s has now inked a new partnership deal with Epic Records, Sony Music which will include the release of two albums. The deal was announced by LA Reid, the Chairman and CEO, of Epic Records, who has a long running relationship with Puff since the 90’s. L.A Reid prior to Epic, was at the helm of Def Jam and also engineered the multi-platinum return of Mariah Carey with the ‘Emancipation of Mimi’. Puff Daddy will kick off the new era, with a confirmed performance of new music at this week’s BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.
The agreement also includes a new label deal with Bad Boy Entertainment and Epic Records which will bring a new generation of Bad Boy artists to Epic in an exclusive label partnership. The new label will include several new music projects, new artist signings and upcoming releases that will be announced in the weeks ahead. Sean Combs said of the new partnership “To now work with LA in this capacity feels more like a homecoming than a new beginning. Not only is he a fearless and smart businessman, he believes in artists and understands music better than anyone.”
