Stormzy, is hitting some new peaks in 2016, heading to Oxford University for a speaking engagement later today. Following on from the new debut U.S. tour dates announced last week, the Grime phenomenon is also putting in work on his forthcoming debut album.

The Oxford Guild, the UK’s largest and oldest professional society est. 1897 will be streaming the talk live and performance from Stormzy today on their Periscope channel (@TheOxfordGuild). The Chairman, Abbas Kazmi, said “We’ve had a phenomenal reaction from the student body so far with over 1,200 students balloting for places in under 24 hours of announcing it.

Stormzy is the latest high profile speaker following on from Kanye West’s talk last year, and 22 year old MC said –  “It’s an honour to be asked to speak at such a prestigious establishment.  In school, all my teachers and my mum were super routing for me to study at Oxford, I picked music as a career choice and this didn’t sit to well with them! So to be asked to come down and speak to the students there is a true tale of destiny giving you the right cards.
