Chase & Status Share Two New Singles From ‘RTN II JUNGLE’
Chase & Status’ ‘RTN II Jungle’ has been a long time coming, 15 years on from their debut as a group Chase and Status return to the music that made them.
Saul Milton, Will Kennard and MC Rage are preparing for a return to where it all began, “we are transporting Jungle into the future – this is a cultural movement.” Back in May, the group spent some time in Jamaica, paying homage to the country and culture that has played such a huge part in their success as musicians. Their ‘RTN II Jungle‘ documentary tells the full story, “In May we spent a week in Kingston Jamaica, predominantly at Big Yard studio. We went there with Seani B to record tracks from our new album RTRN II JUNGLE. What we wanted to do was to create authentic, new, Jungle – and go to the source; where the culture and all the inspiration came from.”
‘Retreat’ featuring Cutty Ranks is the first visual from the upcoming LP, and ‘Heater‘ featuring General Levy call back to that ’90’s Jungle spirit and remind us all why Jamaica’s impact on UK underground culture cannot be overstated.
