Could Rae Sremmurd Take ‘Black Beatles’ To A U.K No.1

What could be weirder in a week like this! Just as the U.S takes a sombre look at the prospect of a white supremacist taking the helm of the no.1 post in the country, the US charts see’s the rise of the ‘Black Beatles’ to the No.1 spot. Oh the irony is not lost on us!

The Mike WiLL Made It produced and Gucci Mane featured single makes this Rae Sremmurd’s first US No.1 and is fast spreading across the channel. The Official UK charts are now seeing a similar trend in the UK with ‘Black Beatles’ on course to enter this week’s Top 10 in the Official Singles Chart, up 27 places as the No.1 trending single.

Rae Sremmurd’s track has been steadily rising but saw a massive upswing after social media (including one of The Beatles himself in the shape of Paul McCartney) took part in the viral #MannequinChallenge. Rae Sremmurd’s own challenge, shot live at their concert in Denver, set a new level on the craze.

Now Nicki Minaj is getting in on the act, and dropped a spin on it with ‘Black Barbies’ asserting her status in the mix – “Island girl, Donald Trump want me to go home”

Announced on her Instagram, Nicki wrote “BLACK BARBIES – why? Cuz 2 Lil black kids got the NUMBER 1 RECORD IN THE COUNTRY & I’m soooooo happy for Mike Will. Now ✅ that! *my baby Phaedra voice*”
