Countdown to ‘More Life’ From Drake
More Life Heading to Biggest US Debut In Billboard Album Charts
Billboard have put together all the industry forecasts for the expected opening numbers for ‘More Life’ in the US released officially at midnight on Saturday night across all streaming services. Drake is expected to make his 7th No.1 entry at the top of the US album charts with a predicted number of ‘500,000 to 550,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 23’. Not unexpectedly, with record breaking first day streams on both Spotify and Apple Music, ‘More Life’ numbers will be largely driven by streams.
Alternatively in the UK, Drake is playing catch up to Ed Sheeran who is still holding the top spot for a third week. Drake’s current chart entry in the midweek chart entry is currently sitting at the no.4 position. With Friday sales/streams not included for ‘More Life’, this is still one day short of the other chart entries. So the big question is – can Drake still climb to the top spot? After another standout live show in London last night with on stage appearances from Giggs, Skepta and Jorja Smith, will the UK step up!
