Drake Scores His First No.1 Single In The U.K

‘One Dance’ had a certified UK smash written all over it with it’s fusion of Hip Hop, AfroBeat and UK Funky House, rising straight to the no.1 spot.

‘One Dance’  also features WizKid and Kyla, who’s original recording of the Crazy Cousinz iconic remix of ‘Do You Mind’ came out back in 2009 on Defenders Ent and Northern Line Records.

Drake had his ear to the ground and a view to reaching the top with Nineteen85 on hand to cleverly rework the funky house classic adding in a steady on grindin’ kind of dancehall feeling.

Tidal Takes The Drake Exclusive From Apple

Initially presumed to be a windowed exclusive with Apple Music only, within minutes of Drake’s surprise Twitter drops of the singles, Tidal surprised fans by streaming the both tracks on its streaming service. In retrospect it’s no surprise that Tidal got in on the action, given that Jay’s all about the business and a feature from The Throne aka Jay-Z and Kanye West would surely have to come with a quid pro quo deal.
