D.R.A.M Enlists Donnie Trumpet For The Remix of $

Virginian native, D.R.A.M has hooked up with some Chitown talent and enlisted the skills of the inimitable Donnie Trumpet and Nate Fox of the Social Experiment for a reworking of $.

D.R.A.M., which stands for “Does Real Ass Music, will also be jumping on Chance The Rappers, Family Matters U.S tour later this year and has already jumped on the ‘Surf’ album with a guest feature on the track ‘Caretaker’. “$” is originally featured on his #1Epic Summer Mixtape EP , but this new version adds some luscious live instrumentation courtesy of Donnie Trumpet with production credits from Nate Fox.

If you’re not already familiar with D.R.A.M, maybe his track ‘Cha Cha’ may jog your memory, Beyonce’s already been all over this track posting ‘ This song makes me happy! ????????????????‘ and a few weeks back, ‘Cha Cha’ got its own special treatment from Drake. The song premiered in full as a new remix by Drake on his OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1 – rechristened ‘Hotline Bling’.

$ feat. Donnie Trumpet (Prod. by Gabe Niles, Bub Ruth & Nate Fox) though is less about getting happy with a ‘Cha Cha’ and more about going deeper and working harder. This beautifully constructed track shows another layer to D.R.A.M and the drive behind his music – ‘But to me when you run and hide thats music suicide, I done felt crucified not gone lie but I resurrected in time.’
