Flatbush Zombies Pay Homage On ‘Glorious Thugs’
Flatbush Zombies intend to go on a full scale assault in 2016 with their debut studio album ‘3001: A Laced Odyssey‘, due to drop on March 11
Before we get into that, they’ve dropped a lyrically fierce track taking us back to Hip-Hop’s glory days with ‘Glorious Thugs’. Meechy Darko, Erik Arc Elliott and Zombie Juice rework the Notorious B.I.G and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony classic collab ‘Notorious Thugs‘, with Elliott on production under the persona “The Architect”, while each MC takes it to the hilt with clever wordplay on the original lyrics.
The NYC rappers release the track within days of their new book, ‘Spring Forward‘ a curated collection of photographs and artwork dated between 2011 to 2015, made with intent to change and inspire others to chase their passion regardless of opposition. Already sold out, the book project follows last years collaboration with Artist Mario Pfeifer on #blacktivist video installation.
Elliott writes – “I’ve worked on this book subconsciously (all of my life), but was an intense process that spread across a time span of about 4 years. In hopes of bringing hope to those who are hopeless, the ultimate goal of Spring Forward was to transcend through ego and exist on it’s own.”
