Get Comfortable With ‘Red Wine’ On Common’s Collab with Syd & Elena
For the past 10 days, Common has been doing quite a bit of sharing with back to back tasters from his forthcoming album ‘Black America Again’.
Starting off with a bit of ‘Love Star’ with help of Marsha Ambrosius – Common followed up soon after with the title track featuring Stevie Wonder on keys and accompanied by the video addressing the current issues around #BlackLiveMatter. Then came the trifecta of Bilal assisted tracks with ‘Home’, ‘Joy and Peace’ and ‘Letter To The Free’.
Now it’s time to get comfortable and take a sip of some immaculate ‘Red Wine’ from Common featuring the fine sounds of The Internet vocalist Syd and the sultry tones of Elena Pinderhughes. As soon as you press play, Syd’s soothing vocals bounce over flutes and violins, gently inviting you to get comfortable with her mesmerising voice. Setting the scene, Common enters the zone with a robustly confident flow like “the 2Pac Deepak Chopra”, then softly leading into the bluesy gentle textures of Elena as she paints pastel colours that’ll have “you swimming off the deep end, heightened senses”. Imagine all that with just a sip of ‘Red Wine’ with Common.
Already shaping up to be a vintage best, Common’s new album is due to drop November 4th, so while you wait, lets make a toast with some fine ‘Red Wine’;
