Get Set For A Toronto Affair On Roy Wood$ Arrival

Feel his presence when he’s here, because thing’s are guaranteed to be getting hotter when Roy Wood$ touches down in the city of London.

We all know somethings in the air, and undoubtedly we’re all about to witness a very clear view when Drake drops his album at the end of April, but make no mistake the entire OVO camp seem to have a very clear intention of up the anti. It won’t just be all about Drake, Majid Jordan will head out on their first European tour in May, and now Toronto’s very own Roy Wood$ is making his debut ARRIVAL in London presented by DJ Semtex on the 24th of May.

Not so much a slow burner but a gritty slow jam murderer, Roy Wood$ is a cold singer/rapper who signed to OVO Sound back in 2015, and swiftly released his debut EP  ‘Exis‘ straight off a Drake feature on his track ‘Drama’. His EP combined his distinctive melodies, bassy production and cut a perfect balance of sharp bars and throaty vocals.

Since his ‘Exis’ episode, Roy Wood$ has kept it low key but also kept us locked in after dropping a very, very cold remix of Kodak Black’s ‘SKRT‘ adding some icy R&B flavours and distortion to the hit. Another new track dropped about a month ago on the OVO Sound radio show,  ‘How I feel‘ sampling the track ‘Rube’ from Pandreas a Norwegian electronic producer.

Oliver El-Khatib has already teased out the upcoming project from Wood$ expected to be titled ‘Waking at Dawn, and ‘How I Feel’ is expected to be on it. With this well timed Arrival to the U.K, Wood$ is set to lay down a real Toronto affair of R&B Melodies fused with Hip-Hop grit making this one night that will fuel some real ‘Jealousy’, so make sure you grab your tickets early – don’t be mad when the 19 yr OVO signee hits our shores and you ain’t got a ticket!

Mark Tuesday 24th May in your diaries, ‘don’t be mad – be early’!
