GoldLink Has Made His Best Art With ‘AATWDT’
It’s arrived and it’s earlier then we anticipated but hey this surprise release is absolutely welcome nonetheless. GoldLink has dropped his highly anticipated album ‘And After That, We Didn’t Talk’ via Soulection today.
From the slew of tracks that have already been leaked in the lead up to the project, it’s been pretty apparent that GoldLink’s been focused in a very different kind of way and it’s paid off with a project that’s both ‘Unique‘, and embraces a broad ‘Spectrum’ of musical influences. The album includes 11 tracks, most in collaboration with Louie Lastic on production and features artists including the next ARRIVAL – Anderson .Paak, and someone we’re watching very closely – Masego.
Check out the full interview with GoldLink and DJ Semtex where he talks about the process of working with Rick Rubin and shares the best advice he ever had from the man; “The biggest thing I learned was if you do the best that you can at what you do. He pretty much told me that if you make the best art that you possibly can, then everybody, everything else falls into place – that’s what he told me, verbatim. “If you make the best art you can, everything else falls into place.” Best advice I ever heard in my life.”
If you haven’t already, listen to ‘New Black’, produced by the UK’s Tom Misch with co-production from Aussie native Jordan Rakei.
The album is available to download on iTunes now.
