Houston’s Maxo Kream Flips Wiley’s ‘Morgue’ For ‘Big Worm’
Houston rapper Maxo Kream gears up for the release of his mixtape ‘The Persona Tape’, with his latest video and single ‘Big Worm’, which sees him rapping over a flip of Wiley’s ‘Morgue’ in some block party visuals.
It’s not often a Southern rapper makes use of a grime beat, but when it is done, it’s actually done pretty well. Houston emcee Maxo Kream’s latest single ‘Big Worm’, which sees him adopting a slice of East London rapping over a sample of Wiley’s and Roll Deep’s 2007 banger, ‘Morgue’ transforming it into a taste of Southwest Houston.
The visuals for ‘Big Worm’ are pretty dope too. With video director Nassacre, channeling the inspiration of cult-classic film Friday even further with this one. While the title of the tune pays homage to the resident drug supplier in Friday, the visuals see Maxo Kream adopting Big Worms signature ride, an ice cream truck.
Peep the visuals for this one above, and check out the track listing for ‘The Persona Tape’ too, which drops on Tuesday.
