James Blake Shares New Single ‘If The Car Beside You Moves’

James Blake plays with the bounds of space and time with his first solo release for two years, ‘If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead’. A choppy, backwards rolling, night time hymn that feels like a throwback to his experimental early days.

Written and produced by James Blake, with co production coming courtesy of Dominic Maker ‘If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead’ is a typical mix of haunting Blake atmosphere. Subtle messages about perseverance and walking your own path are dotted throughout the melody and director Alexander Brown captures a fast paced L.A. lifestyle, that almost feels at odds with the tracks glitchy, stuttering tone.

Word on the street is there’s new material coming soon, but judging by this it’s hard to know just where he’ll be taking his sound next. For now, James has a string of UK dates coming up alongside his European tour dates with Kendrick Lamar, which you can check out here
