Jorja Smith Releases New Track, ‘February 3rd’

With a new album on the horizon, all eyes are currently on R&B sensation Jorja Smith. In the build up to its release, she has dropped a brand new single, ‘February 3rd‘, a soulful number which sees her lace a delicate R&B beat. The track almost twists and turns on the spot, taking you on a journey of love and expectations with Jorja asking “why don’t you lose yourself for me?”. Genuine emotions pour throughout the track with Jorja leaving it all on the search for answers.

Jorja has built a reputation for showcasing her amazing ability on tracks, previously teaming up with Kali Uchis on ‘Tyrant’ and featuring on the Black Panther soundtrack standout, ‘I Am’. Her debut EP, ‘Project 11’, was released to great success and accolades came thick and fast with a prime position on the BBC Sound Of 2017 longlist, Mobo nominations and the Critics’ Choice Award at this year’s Brits.

Speaking on the album with i-D, she said that the eventual release will mean a lot for her in terms of connecting with her fans; “What I can’t wait for – which will mean success for me – is when I do a show after I put an album out and everybody knows the words to every song. When they know the words because they bought my album and they’ve listened to the songs 500 times? That will be mad.

Jorja is set to release Lost & Found on 8th June, and will feature previously released singles ‘Blue Lights’, ‘Teenage Fantasy’, ‘Where Did I Go?’. The project was written across three years between the ages of 17 to 20, and will be accompanied by a UK tour this October, including a headline date at London’s O2 Brixton Academy.
