Kamasi To Join Kendrick At British Summer Time Hyde Park

With festival announcements by the dozen, pay attention to British Summer Time Hyde Park as they’ve just stepped up yet again and added 3 more acts to the bill for the Saturday 2nd July line-up.

Joining Kendrick Lamar and Jamie XX amongst our hot favourites will be another legend in the making Kamasi Washington, the genius on the tenor-sax, and a force to be reckoned with since surging to new heights with his contribution to Kendrick’s critically acclaimed  ‘To Pimp a Butterfly‘. Following on from his 2015 release of the magnificent ‘The Epic’ to immense critical acclaim, Kamasi Washington has already brought his live set to sold out London stages and this time he’s taking it to the biggest crowd in London.

Alongside Kamasi Washington,  Cat Power and Todd Terje will also be on the Saturday billing to complement the existing line-up, Kendrick Lamar will perform on July 2nd following on from his 2015 UK festival appearance at Reading and Leeds. Kendrick Lamar in Hyde Park will be an unmissable experience right in London’s own central park.

Jamie XX is also a highlight, not only since his Mercury Music Prize win in 2010 with The XX but as a huge solo success, working with a plethora of the worlds biggest artists such Adele, Alicia Keys, Radiohead and Young Thug. Alongside his many projects was the internationally acclaimed album with Gill Scott Heron, released in 2011 it produced the hit single ‘I’ll Take Care Of U’ which went on to be sampled by Drake on his track ‘Take Care’ ft Rihanna. More recently, Jamie released his debut solo record ‘In Colour’ to critical acclaim, reaching #3 in the UK, cementing his status as the go to producer, and the man of the moment with Young Thug on ‘Good Times
