Kamasi Washington Brings The Epic Tour To The UK

One of the most hotly anticipated live sets this year comes from none other than Kamasi Washington who’s bringing his Epic jazz set to the festival stages from Coachella to Glastonbury this summer. Now adding a UK tour to his expansive live odyssey, the Inglewood saxophonist and composer is ready to conquer more hearts with the sound of jazz.

Announcing his debut solo UK tour, Kamasi and his ensemble  The Next Step will hit 4 cities including Glasgow’s QMU, Manchester’s Academy 2, Birmingham’s Institute 2 and Bristol’s Anson Rooms.

Kamasi Washington, is already scheduled this summer to perform multiple shows in the U.K including a hotly tipped performance at Hyde Park and Glastonbury. The set is expected to include tracks from his debut album ‘The Epic‘ an almost three hour long modern jazz masterpiece which was released on Brainfeeder last year to widespread critical acclaim.

The Next Step ensemble feature a vocalist, keys, trombone and upright bass player, as well as two drummers who also formed part of the collective of Washington’s closest school friends including critically acclaimed vocalist/bassist Thundercat, who recorded the album in prestigious recording studio Kingsize Soundlabs in L.A.
