KAMAU Tells A Visual Tale Of Girl-Games In ‘GAIMS’ Video
As Maryland DC hailing artist KAMAU gears up for the release of his up and coming EP ‘A Gorgeous Fortune’, he shares with us his brilliantly dramatic video for ‘GAIMS’.
‘GAIMS’ sees KAMAU injecting a slice of fun into his visuals. Telling an all too familiar tale of heartbreak and girl-games, KAMAU’s reaction is… let’s just say dramatic – if I wrote it you wouldn’t believe me! Check out the video for ‘GAIMS’ above, and carry on reading to find out a bit more about this very unique musical talent.
If you have yet to be blessed with the sounds of KAMAU yet, then let me give you a quick update. KAMAU is a musician, with a whole lot of soul in his voice. Fusing elements of jazz, hip-hop and just downright vibes, KAMAU first sprang to my attention almost a year ago with his interpretation of Outkast’s joyous ‘Hey Ya’. KAMAU ran with it, and fleshed out the undeniable sadness within Outkast’s dance-ready classic.
He later released a flip of Adele’s ‘Hometown Glory’ into Three Six Mafia’s ‘Stay Fly’, which was equally adventurous and memorable. In January of this year he released the striking visuals to his single ‘JAMBO’ – which captures his distinctive style of rapid-fire raps, layered with his melodic vocals, and an envious energy. At only 1 minute 55 seconds in length, KAMAU commands – and receives respect – in a relatively short space.
And while KAMAU has been steadily releasing music, building gup a solid set of visuals and carving his own musical lane, he’s been working on his debut EP, wonderfully entitled, ‘A Gorgeous Fortune’. Supporting Lion Babe on their USA tour, and with his debut EP set for release on July 1st, which you can pre-order here. Now is a pretty good time to check out KAMAU’s musical backlog and the hilariously dramatic video for ‘GAIMS’.
He’s not playing any games.
