Masego Shows Us ‘Girls That Dance’
Oh damn it’s one of those – head to a party, wanna get down and that damn DJ is just playing for himself, how many times have you just wished that someone would just grab that DJ and throw him off the decks.
Well Masego has the right idea in his new video for ‘Girls Can Dance’ – and trust me we can relate to that feeling, thankfully Masego x Medasin got the party started right, cos face it who doesn’t like girls that dance, I mean seriously? It’s all about those 90’s and before we get all up reminiscing about the good ol’ days, all you gotta know is that all the girls were ready to party till the break of dawn – oh hang on isn’t that a lyric from that Zhane’s 90’s hit.
It’s only natural that the concept for the new video bring a little bit of the 90’s spirit to it, it seem’s fitting for Masego because it’s probably right to say that his sound doesn’t fit into any convenient time capsule. Masego’s Pink Polo EP is his way to tell anyone who ain’t ready for him or his sound – “TrapHouseJazz doesn’t fit the mould and I don’t care. Like ‘Back when they thought pink Polos would hurt the Roc.’”
‘Girls That Dance’ is one of the standout cuts on his EP, and after a stint of touring through the summer we can wait to see what’s next from Masego – it’s about time he heads over to the U.K we say.
Born and bred out of Virginia and now residing in NY, Masego teamed up with Medasin, a producer from Texas who’s also part of the Noir Sound Collective to concoct this groovy little number and we like it – check out the video above.
