Mercury Prize Nominee Kano Reveals ‘T-Shirt Weather In The Manor’

Deservedly securing a Mercury Music Prize nomination for his critically acclaimed and most successful album to date, Kano has come into his own with ‘Made In The Manor’.

Timed to perfection, Kano released his new video for ‘T-shirt Weather In The Manor’ minutes after the shortlist was announced. One of the standouts on the album, the single takes you to that feeling when you’re loving London in the summer, even when all we get are a few hot days. Kano got lucky catching that heatwave last week, filming the video over the weekend on the fields of his old school in East London, featuring friends and family at an all day barbecue. Watch the video above.

‘T Shirt Weather In the Manor’ epitomises the reflective story form of Kano’s new album, as the 30 year old MC matures to his own reality, recalling moments through his rise. When ‘innocent summers turn sinister’ and they’re swapping tees for the vests, as things get heated in the manor and you wonder who’s still your real friend –  “They say the ends love you, then they hate you, then they love you again.

Heading out on tour in October, Kano may be reminiscing about those good days in ’05 but with a headliner at at the O2 Academy Brixton, things are looking like they’ve come round to a new high.
