Pell Floats Higher On ‘Cafe Du Monde’
With announcement upon announcements, the forthcoming release of the debut album ‘LIMBO’ from New Orleans songwriter, rapper and producer Pell, is one that’s worth checking out.
The first single ‘Cafe Du Monde’ delivers an urgent baseline, with Pell giving it worthy weight and simultaneously taking his sound to the next level. Premiered to coincide with the album announcement, ‘Cafe Du Monde’, features production credits from TVOTR guitarist Dave Sitek, who’s collaborated on most of the album. Sitek who’s amassed significant production in his own right, remixed the track ’11:Eleven’ before meeting up with Pell in L.A and hitting the studio soon after. The album is 10 tracks of all Pell with no guests, alongside production from Sitek and Tomas Barfod (Secretly Canadian), Christo (Mac Miller, Ludacris), Staccs and Alexander Spit.
Pell’s critically acclaimed underground mixtape ‘Floating While Dreaming’, amassed more than 19 million streams on Spotify and another 7 million on SoundCloud, inspiring the start of the next episode.
Wrapping up performances this summer in the U.K at Reading & Leeds festival, he’s also finished up his support slot for Kehlani on her sold-out U.S tour for Kehlani. Swiftly heading up the ranks Pell’s ascent has begun and if ‘Cafe Du Monde’ is anything to go it’s going to be higher then expectated.
LIMBO will be released November 6 via Federal Prism Records and is available to pre-order LIMBO here.
