Pharrell Is Pretty Happy With The Press
Making his first steps into the world of children’s books, Pharrell had a pretty different press conference to give on his latest promotional run in the U.K. Watch the best British press conference above to see how Pharrell dealt with the ‘tough’ questions from his audience ranging from “Is your book about a pea?” to “Are you always happy?” and “What Is a Happy helper?”.
We know the UK media can be quite critical and are probably one the hardest ones to please, but Pharrell was pretty ‘Happy’ about the reception he got from his budding young media reporters, “Honestly I have to say there’s no greater way that this could have ever happened because the book is for you. You and your friends and it’s an iteration of the song I had a couple of years back but I think more than anything else having it in book form allows you guys to really get the worth of the lyrics. So thank you.”
Describing the experience, Pharrell was ecstatic “The energy was the most important thing to me and that’s something you can’t fake something that the kind of vibration and the enthusiasm that they were naturally emanating was just awesome and I just think there could not have been a better reception to present this idea that we are putting this book out, so I’m grateful for this opportunity and definitely grateful for this experience and it is definitely because of those great children.”
This October Penguin Random House Children’s will be publishing HAPPY! – a picture book featuring photographs of children across cultures celebrating what it means to be happy, inspired by the words of the Oscar nominated and bestselling single ‘Happy’.
Happy is released on 8th October through Penguin Random House Children’s and is available to buy from Amazon
Pharrell is also just announced as the first performer officially set to join EMAs host Ed Sheeran and co-host Ruby Rose in the roster of stars who’ll be appearing at the MTV 2015 EMA’s in Milan.
