Play ‘Nice For What’, Drake Drops Another One

When it comes to knowing exactly what people want to hear, it’s become a rite of passage knowing that there will always be a Drake song to cover every moment and every emotion. This week, the UK published it’s gender pay gap figures and it made for stark reading and a reality check for anyone who’s still in denial about how punishing it is for women to making a living out here. If you’re done playing nice, Drake’s got you!

Not content with making history after a straight 9 week run at the top of the UK charts with ‘Gods Plan’, prepare for the return of Drake’s reign. After jumping on stage in Toronto on Thursday night to announce his new album this summer, Drake kept his promise of a new single and dropped ‘Nice For What’ last night. Opening with a sample of Lauryn Hill singing the hook from her forever classic ‘Ex-Factor’, ‘Nice for What’ is produced by Noah “40” Shebib and Murda Beatz, and is a straight up ode to women from the lyrics to the star-studded visuals.

If you’re wondering who’s mutherfuckin’ representing again, have no doubt Drake’s been peepin’ what you bringin’ to the table. The Karena Evans-directed video is all about the ladies working hard and showin’ off, and features appearances from Olivia Wilde, Issa Rae, Tiffany Haddish, Black Panther star Letitia Wright, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth and Victoria Lejonhjärta, Jourdan Dunn, Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Rashida Jones, Syd, Bria Vinaite, Misty Copeland and Emma Roberts. Drake himself makes a cameo but be clear it’s the ladies taking the lead role here.

We don’t want no more hashtags, no more excuses, enough is enough, what you playing nice for?
