Prince: "I wanted my music to speak loudest for me"
And it was at Tidal, where Prince let his music stream, removing his catalogue from Spotify and other streaming services, Prince made a king move when he joined forces with Jay-Z. Princes allegiances were clear when he spoke to Ebony about his creative agreement – “Tidal is a new company, it’s brand new. They’re just getting their footing, and I think when there’s a company like that, or the OWN network—situations where we finally get into a position to run things—we all should help. It’s been a lot of fun.”

President Issues A Statement On Princes Passing
The White House has issued an official statement from President Obama about the sudden passing of Prince:
Prince: This Was The Day Doves Cried
There never has been and never will be another Prince, it’s a devastating day to read the news that Prince has passed away, and while the reverberations of his death filter around the world, we mourn the music legend.
The prolific and legendary icon has sold over 100 million albums, marking a career highlight in 1984 as the first singer to simultaneously have a No. 1 album, single, and film in the US with ‘Purple Rain’, going on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score. An innovator not only of his sound, Prince has creatively broken ground again and again reinventing his image, his music, his visual legacy in film and video and even originating the abbreviation of his song titles from 1981 – 2 this day.
Emergency services were called to his home at Paisley Park earlier today and his death was later confirmed by the Associated Press via his publicist – Prince had died at the age of 57.
A week prior, Prince had been rushed to hospital following a flu but hours later was released and threw a dance party.
