Robert Glasper & Erykah Badu Go Strong On ‘Maiysa (So Long)’

Robert Glasper opens the door to another gem from his Miles Davis project, releasing the beautifully bluesy bossa nova collaboration with Erykah Badu ‘Maiysha (So Long)’.

Following on from the Bilal featured ‘Ghetto Walkin‘, and ‘I’m Leaving You’ featuring Ledici, Robert Glasper unveiled the 3rd single, the eagerly anticipated collaboration with Erykah Badu featured on the Miles Davis inspired project ‘Everything’s Beautiful’. On ‘Maiysha (So Long)’, Erykah and Glasper have come back so strong, adding a bounce to a bossa nova version of Miles Davis’ original 14 minute long ‘Maiysha’. Robert Glasper and Erykah Badu seem to have all the ingredients of musical magic, which deserves it’s own standalone project, proved already with their previous collaboration on their cover of Mongo Sanatamaria’s ‘Afro Blue’.

Expect the unexpected on ‘Everything’s Beautiful’ a crafted 11 track collection that is not only produced by Robert Glasper, but carefully blends together master takes and outtakes from Miles Davis’ catalog.
