Robert Glasper, Miles Davis & Bilal Go ‘Ghetto Walkin’

If you’re one for collectible vinyl releases then the next Record Store Day in 2016, will be one to dig deep into those pockets to nail the releases hitting the worldwide schedule on April 16, 2015.

Now in its ninth year, Record Store Day is an annual day-long celebration of record store culture held on the third Saturday in April. Make an early note of all the special releases, first up here’s one from Legacy Records, who are releasing a range of limited edition vinyl including the just premiered track from Miles Davis, Robert Glasper and Bilal ‘Ghetto Walkin’.

While the Miles Davis biopic heads to the big screen, expect a renewed interest in Miles’ music. ‘Ghetto Walkin’, is the 1st single from Miles Davis and Grammy-winning jazz/R&B/hip-hop musician Robert Glasper with vocals from Bilal. The track appears on the new album of Miles Davis material, ‘Everything’s Beautiful’, blended together by Glasper with an array of stellar guest artists. This Record Store Day 2016 12″ vinyl single release will include, ‘The Ghetto Walk’ as a B-side, an outtake from ‘In a Silent Way‘ that formed the basis of ‘Ghetto Walkin’ – listen below to track premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats;
