Rough Trade Present ‘Hip Hop Raised Me’ In Conversation

Already anointed the British ‘Hip Hop Mastermind’ and now the author of the forthcoming book Hip Hop Raised Me®, DJ Semtex will be joined by comedian, actor, rapper, and screenwriter Doc Brown for his first in-conversation celebrating the launch of his book.

Semtex’s new book Hip Hop Raised Me®, is due to be published by Thames and Hudson on the 6th of October and Rough Trade East are hosting this special event in London on the 5th of October. Doc Brown aka Ben Bailey Smith recently starred in the 2016 Ricky Gervais movie David Brent: Life on the Road and has diversified considerably since his early days as a rapper, moving into mainstream TV and Film acting, stand up, screen writing and children’s books. Receiving huge accolades for his dramatic role in the ITV1 hit drama Brief Encounters as starting in ITV’s Law & Order, C4’s The Inbetweeners and Derek, BBC thriller Hunted, BBC comedies Rev, Miranda, Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Apollo and ITV’s Midsomer Murders, Ben has quite literally become a household name.
