Royce Da 5’9″ drops ‘Layers’ With Pusha T & Rick Ross
Royce 5’9 links up with two of hip-hop’s biggest powerhouses, Pusha T and Rick Ross for ‘Layers’.
Detroit’s Royce is upping the ante for his up and coming sixth studio album ‘Layers’. Using the lyrical might of Pusha T and Rick Ross, Royce shares the albums lead track – also entitled ‘Layers’ – which is pure, greazy hip-hop gold. This has an undeniably bopping beat which is intertwined with a motivational speech from speaker Brother Marcus. Pusha T dives in first, the Royce, then finally Ricky Rozay – each painting a vivid picture, recounting their tales from their past and current mental states.
Produced by Mr.Porter, ‘Layers’ has this real hip-hop vibe to it – no trappy or borderline production, just straight rap. Which makes the Pusha T and Rick Ross feature fit on ‘Layers’ so perfectly. Earlier last month Royce appeared on Sway in the Morning to discuss his relationship with Eminem, DJ Premier and Slaughterhouse and setting the MC bar oh-so-high.
‘Layers’ is set for release on the 15th April, but while we have some sunshine, take in the wordplay and turn up your speakers to ‘Layers’.
