Rukhsana Merrise collaborates with Ghetts on brand new single, ‘Talk About It’.
Pulling no punches, Rukhsana places human nature under the microscope on her latest release ‘Talk About It’. Questioning our seeming inability to have real discussions, Rukhsana explores why honest empathy and true connections appear so elusive.
“This is one of the first songs I wrote when working on my album.” Rukhsana explains of the single, “It’s about what happens when there’s a serious breakdown in communication in a relationship. Musically it showcases some of my influences and has some unexpected moments that make it special.”
Silken guitar riffs pave the way on a track produced by regular collaborator PRGRSHN, ‘Talk About It’ flourishes as Rukhsana and Ghetts come together in telling the story of a relationship that has lost its way.
Having already toured with James Bay and Michael Kiwanuka and currently supporting Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Rukhsana makes her music unbound by genre restrictions, “Just leave yourself in the music, do what’s real to you and you’ll get there,” she says. “The music will do what it needs to do.”
