Smino is a beast – and by beast I mean that in every single positive way, he’s just sick. The St Louis by way of Chicago artists latest offering is the vibey, dancehall soaked ‘Lemon Pon Goose’ alongside Jean Deaux and Sango on the boards.

On paper and out of the speakers, this is a perfect combination. With beat-wizard Sango on production duties, creating a multi-layered, genre bending beat and songstress Jean Deaux and Smino going back to back exchanging melodic, Caribbean infused melodies, ‘Lemon Pon Goose’ is a tasty concoction.

With Soulection producer Sango inspired by Beanie Man and Ms Thing’s 2004 classic ‘Dude’, the result is a beautiful blend of the popular dancehall sound (which is dominating the waves at the moment) while Smino staying true to his versatile and energetic sound, delivers punchy energetic bars. Jean Deaux kills it too. In true Smino style, the fatigue-o-meter remains at zero.  The energy is tireless and high from start to finish.
