South London production trio Team Salut release brand new single ‘Hot property’.
A Mitcham studio in the outskirts of London is where Team Salut have been innovating their signature style over four short years, establishing their brand as the premiere producers in London’s burgeoning Afro scene. Pioneers from the jump, Team Salut are Mr Wood, GKP and Side Chain Manny – three self taught multi-instrumentalists whose earliest musical memories go back to their days in church where they all met in London.
A triangulation of Africa’s West Coast, Team Salut’s roots stretch across Ghana to Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Reared on African hall parties and the gospel music of their church, this formed Team Salut’s elementary education and laid the foundation for their distinctive style.
Their latest track ‘Hot Property’ draws three of the scenes most prominent voices in Tion Wayne, Afro B and Eugy. Their blend of Afro melodies backed by a Dancehall bass line is set to be warming raves and hall parties right through the winter months. “‘Hot Property’ is all about having a good time and feeling special about yourself,” Team Salut said of the new track “and we felt for our first release it’s important to collaborate with our extended family, and that’s why we brought Tion, who we recently worked with on ‘Minor’, one of our long-time collaborators Afro B, and Eugy, whose ‘Dance For Me, is one of our biggest records to date, on board for this one.”
