There’s been a changing of the guard going on at Reading Festival and DJ Semtex who’s hosted the 1Xtra stage to heaving crowds year in year out over these past 3 years can testify to the fact that its officially massive.
2015 Reading Festival saw a turnout for Grime and U.K Acts that has proved that this moment has surpassed all expectations where artist after artist has been tearing up the crowds. The energy, mayhem and moshing at each set has been nothing short of thunderous.
Fekky kicked off day 3 with a vicarious set that had him running through peak adrenaline as he brought out classic cuts and guests including General Levy for the junglist massive and fresh flavours with Sneakbo. It took a certain kind of bravery to enter these stages as fan after fan was being pulled out by security with the crowds heaving towards the front and just going into a frenzy. As extra security got called in for Stormzy’s standout performance, the excitement for him was explosive and the masses were impenetrably packed into the tent as they fell out into the field.
The headline set from Krept and Konan who burst into hit after hit from their debut album ‘The Long Way Home’ was unquestionably a claim for their home turf and they were completely in their element.
While the stage staff ran out to clean up after a crazy hectic day, crowds headed out and over to the Dance stage to continue a day of U.Ks best long into the night with the final set of the night coming from Boy Better Know – Skepta, JME, Maximum and the entire BBK crew closed off the day leaving fans with a few bruised bones and cut lips – as they wilded out to the best of British music.
