The Weeknd’s ‘BBTM’ Edges Closer With ‘The Leak’

So far in 2015, The Weeknd’s had an incredible year to say the least. The Canadian’s career has sky-rocketed in the space of 12 months, instigated by smash hits like ‘Earned It’, ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills’, he’s morphed into a prolific, global Popstar.

Right on queue for his 3rd studio album, ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’, set for release on the 28th August. Fortuitously, a week before his highly anticipated LP drop, the 25 year old has candidly shared official album snippets on his Soundcloud, naming them ‘The Leak’.

Whether you like it or not, The Weeknd is undoubtedly in mainstream continuity, consistently having his material spun on the radio in recent times; potentially attaching the threat of crushing his own authenticity as an artist to cater for the masses.

However, although these are only snippet tracks, ‘The Leak’ suggests Weeknd hasn’t lost an ounce of credibility or edge to his music but perhaps is creating slightly more hit records than he is used to – which isn’t a bad thing by any standard.
