Vince Staples Is Headstrong On The ‘PRIMA DONNA’ EP
After going all out with his notable 2015 debut double-CD ‘Summertime ’06’, Vince Staples returns big on his compact new EP ‘PRIMA DONNA’.
Headstrong as he may be, Vince Staples puts any doubters to rest, rising like a young giant as he goes on the prowl with a next level lyrical assault over fierce production from No I.D., DJ Dahi and James Blake. Channeling anger like a raging bull, addressing self doubt and pushing himself to the limits, Staples doesn’t hold back on the ‘Prima Donna’ EP.
Kicking off ‘War Ready’, and ready for action with some real killer shit, Staples launches his attack with the James Blake produced first track, and proceeds to snatch the mic from track to track determined to shape the future of Hip-Hop.
PRIMA DONNA features A$AP Rocky, Kilo Kash and a masterfully sampled verse from Andre 3000, who clearly influences Vinces future flow. The EP is accompanied by a short film directed by Staples and Nabil and has only been screened in NY and LA to date, with future plans yet to be announced.
Whatever the future holds for Hip-Hop, Vince Staples has stepped into the ring and he’s got fighting talk in his belt and lyrical ammunition for years to come.
