‘What A Time To Be Alive’ Drake & Future Drop Mixtape
Will there ever be another collaboration to match the anticipation for ‘Watch The Throne’? The past week was rife with rumours of a Future and Drake collab on its way but did it actually reach the heights of ‘Watch The Throne’ – plenty of naysayers out there are still claiming there can be nothing to match Jigga and Yeezy.
Either way you have another gem to add to a killer year of Hip-Hop releases. Forget all the collaborations you haven’t imagined yet and tell us you weren’t hyped to hear the Future and Drake joint mixtape ‘What A Time To Be Alive’.
The speculation has finally ended and ‘What a Time to Be Alive’ officially dropped this weekend, premiered on the OVO Sound Radio show episode 6 on Beats 1. A total of 11 tracks, just Future and Drake, no guests and production from Metro Boomin (who’s produced 8 tracks), Boi-1da, Southside and Noah “40” Shebib.
Future and Drake have collaborated together a good few times including ‘Where Ya At’ and ‘Tony Montana’ – so it was just a matter of time before the two finally came together on one tape? “I went to Atlanta for six days a couple weeks ago with the hopes of doing some songs with Future, and when you get around Future, it’s like a vortex, that guy can outwork anybody right now” Drake said. “It’s tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it.”
It’s another Apple exclusive and ‘What a Time to Be Alive’ is released jointly on Cash Money & Epic records available exclusively on iTunes and Apple Music for one week before it’s out everywhere else.
Question now remains – are we still getting a new studio album before year end from Drake?
