Wireless Festival Announce First Acts To Line-up For 2016
Wireless Festival is back for its 11th year, and with the announcement of the first acts for the 2016 line-up, set the internet on a frenzy first thing this morning.
Back at Finsbury Park on the weekend of the 8–10 July 2016, Wireless is yet again set to be one of the biggest music events of the year, with more acts still to be announced – so watch this space.
Since Wireless kicked off in 2005 in London, the lineup has secured an unrivalled reputation for breaking and bringing some of the biggest names in music to the festival stage. This year’s festival presents a headline billing of artists including the UK’s own Grammy Award winning Calvin Harris, the return of Chase & Status, plus platinum-selling rapper J. Cole, and of course U.K’s own homeboys – Boy Better Know.
FRIDAY 8 JULY
Calvin Harris, Bryson Tiller, Miguel, Kurupt FM, Kwabs, Vic Mensa, Big Narstie, Yungen, Geko.
Cracking the R&B code will be TRAPSOUL singer Bryson Tiller, who stormed the scene with a debut that’s clocked him over 36 million plays and a fast and furious fanbase who’ve been snapping up tickets in seconds for his sold out U.K shows. Miguel, will perform tracks from his recent ‘Wildheart’ album, and rising Manchester singer/rapper Geko will bring some Afrobeat waves to London.
SATURDAY 9 JULY
Chase & Status, J.Cole, Future, Krept & Konan, Craig David’s TS5, A$AP Ferg, Maverick Sabre, WSTRN, Bugzy Malone, Lady Leshurr, Jahkoy, Nadia Rose, DJ Semtex.
The 2016 line up is championing some of the best emerging and established music talent from the U.K on one bill including appearances from Craig David, MOBO award winning Krept and Konan, and the queen of banter Lady Leshurr.
Grammy nominated for his ‘Forest Hills Drive’ platinum album, J. Cole is finally making a return to the festival stage to perform live since his 2014 performance. Future returns after a sold out Brixton Academy date at the top of the year.
SUNDAY 10 JULY
Boy Better Know, Action Bronson, Kehlani, Section Boyz, Young Thugs, Jeremih, Vince Staples, YelaWolf, Young Thug, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Newham Generals, Logan Sama.
Hot off their debut sold out ARRIVAL shows in London, Wireless will bring back Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals for the festival run as well as Young Thug who literally tore the roof off in London and Reading last year.
Closing Sunday’s show is UK’s grime collective Boy Better Know. Headed up by Jme and Skepta, BBK are making a 2nd headline performance billing in 2016 alongside Reading Festival. Die-hard Wireless fans will share an important moment in British musical history when BBK ‘shutdown’ the festival in July.
