Young Thug Unveils ‘No, My Name Is Jeffery’

Welcome to the world of Jeffery, the man who’s firmly of the opinion he’s not from this earth, but nonetheless has found fluidity in the world as Young Thug.

Unveiled in nothing less than a head turning new outfit, Young Thug revealed the cover art of ‘No, My Name Is Jeffrey’ on Instagram shortly before releasing the mixtape on Apple Music.

Swooping up the fascination of  fashion stylewarts, Thug’s latest gender fluid cover art comes as a result of his recent position as a VFiles mentor where he’s been enlisted to nurture the more riskier, conceptual and avant-garde talents. After spotting a piece from one of the forthcoming Spring 2017 runway winners, Italian designer Alessandro Trincone’s Kimono inspired ‘Annodami’ collection, the featured dress was immediately shipped to Atlanta for Young Thug’s cover shoot. Arriving just before every fashion house descends on New York Fashion Week in September, Thug’s latest gender free outing will undoubtedly dominate the next seasons trend spreads – because well no one wears a skirt quite like Young Thug.

So while we’re still referring to the moniker, meet the real Jeffery in the teaser campaign below if you haven’t already.

The new mixtape comes in at a tight 10 tracks, featuring track titles in honour of Thugs idols including Harambe, the Gorilla. The previously titled collab with Wyclef Jean ‘John’ now reappears as ‘Pop Man’, and the newly released Travis & Thug collab ‘Pick Up the Phone’ is a last minute bonus. With odes to ‘Love’ and baby mama’s he can fuck while rapping with some ‘Future Swag’, all while putting in that work like ‘RiRi’, this is classic Thugger material.

The album also features Offset, Gucci Mane, Quavo, Young Scooter, and Wyclef Jean and production includes frequent collaborators including Vinylz, Mike Dean, Allen Ritter, Billboard Hitmakers, Wheezy, TM88, and Cassius Jay. With no radical change of direction other than his name, musically and lyrically ‘No, My Name Is Jeffery’ is true to form, if in any doubt just listen below;
